The door opens for invited makers: log in and use Scrapmatch and your off-cuts in production while the beta application stays open for everyone else. Inside, your inventory is built for thousands of pieces: search, filters, base materials and bundles.

  • NewInvited makers log in from the top bar and get the whole workshop; visitors still see the beta application only.Site
  • NewSearch and filters on My Offcuts: find pieces by name or note, narrow by base material, material, shape and photo, and see how many match. My Offcuts
  • NewEvery piece has a base material now: wood, metal, plastic, fabric and more. Catalogue materials bring theirs along; for anything else you pick it on the scan review or when adding by hand.My Offcuts · Scrapmatch
  • NewBundles: thirty identical copper pipes are one row with a quantity. A scan counts identical pieces, cards show “× n”, and you can use or cut part of a bundle; the rest stays in your off-cuts.My Offcuts · Scrapmatch
  • NewSuggest what is missing: a base material from the base select, a skill or tool from the setup search. Suggestions land in the review queue like material suggestions do.Scrapmatch · Profile
  • ImprovedIdeas for all your off-cuts look at every material you own, not only the pieces on screen, and count bundles as what they are.Ideas
  • ImprovedMy Offcuts loads in pages of forty with “Load more”, and the beta allowance is 5,000 pieces and 1,000 saved ideas per maker. My Offcuts
  • ImprovedThe site follows your account language: sign in in German, get German everywhere, on every device.Profile · Site
  • ImprovedActions on cards and lists are icon buttons with tooltips, so rows stay short. My Offcuts · Builds · Profile
  • FixedThe “inventory full” message named a wrong number; it now shows your own allowance. My Offcuts

The beta takes shape behind the door: Scrapmatch moves into the site, your off-cuts get a home, ideas come from your own pieces, and builds get a log. None of it is open yet; the closed beta starts mid-November.

  • NewThis changelog, with a filter by area. The footer shows the running version and links here.Site
  • NewScrapmatch is a page of offcuts.work now, not a separate app. A scan ends in a piece list with sizes beside a zoomable photo; you can remove pieces or suggest a material I do not know yet.Scrapmatch
  • NewMy Offcuts: your pieces from a scan or added by hand, with shape and sizes, filters, mark used or available. Pieces from an old scan can have their sizes detected later. My Offcuts
  • NewCut a piece: tell it the part and the blade thickness, and the leftovers land back in your off-cuts.My Offcuts
  • NewIdeas for the pieces you pick, or for all your off-cuts, with your tools taken into account. Save ideas privately; the saved list tells you which ones you can build right now.Ideas
  • NewBuilds start private and go public when you say so. Each has progress with a percent, dated updates with photos, and a list of the pieces it used. “I'll build this” on an idea opens the new build.Builds
  • NewSigned-in makers land on a dashboard and get a workshop shell: sidebar with live counts, builds in progress, a workbench by Planned / Building / Done.Workshop
  • ImprovedProfile settings take your measurement system (cm or inches) and your skills and tools.Profile
  • FixedPhotos of private or hidden builds were reachable by anyone with the link. They now sit behind your sign-in.Builds

The home page now says why you should join the beta, and Scrapmatch gets a proper header.

  • NewFive reasons to join the beta, each on its own ply board, right below the top of the home page.Site
  • New“Who gets what” sets the closed beta against the open one later: both free for the whole beta, Founding Maker badge and six months of the top tier only for the closed one.Site
  • ImprovedApplication, terms and About name the start in mid-November, the phases and the perks.Site
  • ImprovedA globe in the header opens the language menu.Site · Scrapmatch
  • ImprovedScrapmatch has its own wordmark, an account menu to sign out and a logo link back to offcuts.work.Scrapmatch
  • FixedHome page and Scrapmatch footer fit narrow phones.Site · Scrapmatch

Under the hood: backups, nightly jobs and logs I can read.

  • ImprovedThe nightly backup now includes a proper database dump. So far it copied the database files as they lay on disk, which is not a reliable way to restore.Site
  • ImprovedNightly cleanup (Scrapmatch photos after 90 days, expired sign-in links, unconfirmed applications) runs inside the platform on a fixed schedule, and I get told when a run fails.Site · Scrapmatch
  • FixedError details got lost on the way to the log, so I was often guessing. They arrive now, with mail addresses blanked out.Site
  • ImprovedNext to an application or a feedback message I see when mails to that address bounce.Site

I can now see when a mail to you does not get through.

  • ImprovedA bounced address (typo, full mailbox, spam flag) gets no more mail from offcuts.work. I can now see and unblock it. If a confirmation never arrives, tell me through the feedback form.Site

1.1.1

October 25, 2026

An outage right after 1.1.0, fixed within the hour.

  • FixedAfter the 1.1.0 update, applying, signing in and Scrapmatch answered with an error: the web server kept talking to the old address of the application. My mistake. Fixed and the next update cannot repeat it.Site · Scrapmatch

Mails that look like the site.

  • ImprovedMails from offcuts.work carry the logo and the Kraft & Craft look.Site
  • FixedBounce reports from my mail provider were rejected over a date format, so a dead address kept getting mail. They land now.Site

1.0.1

October 25, 2026

Two small things found on launch day.

  • Improvedoffcuts.work has its own icon in the browser tab and on the home screen.Site
  • FixedReplies to my mails went nowhere: the sending address has no mailbox. They now reach hello@offcuts.work.Site

offcuts.work is online: one page and an application form. The closed beta comes next, and I am looking for the first makers.

  • NewApply for the closed beta on the home page: four short questions, then one click in the mail to confirm.Site
  • NewScrapmatch is built and waits behind the beta door: photograph your off-cuts, it finds the pieces and suggests projects.Scrapmatch
  • NewThe home page says what offcuts.work is, the About page tells the story of the off-cuts box.Site
  • NewThe feedback form goes straight to me.Site
  • NewImprint, privacy notice and terms are in place. Every page is in English and German.Site
  • NewSigning in is a link by mail, no password. Until the beta opens, nobody but me needs it.Profile
